The load-bearing, red brick house sits on a limestone foundation and has a distinctive English flavor with its steep gable roof, narrow overhanging eaves, and symmetrical H-shape massing with projecting side ells and a two-story, central, projecting pavilion announcing the formal entry. The building is architecturally and historically significant and contains a formal library, oratory, small bedrooms or “cells” for seminarians, offices, a large living room, den, formal dining room, kitchen, basement and attic.
